Digital Networks Group consulted with Desert Sands USD and found many opportunities to integrate a video distribution system within the district to promote increased student achievement. A VBrick solution, for analog and digital media distribution and video-on-demand, was installed to give teachers the capability to enhance their lessons by searching for content from the computers in their classrooms. Once the content is selected, the teacher has the ability to project the selection from their desktop to a screen or onto the students’ computers. Broadcasting and video conferencing capabilities were added to the solution to allow for distance learning and content storage. Digital Networks Group also provided professional training to both the technology coordinators and the teachers on the use of the system. Teachers have found that this integrated system captures students' attention and addresses all learning styles.
In addition to the video system, Digital Networks Group was selected by the District's facilities department to handle all new installations, adds and changes to the voice and data network infrastructure, providing the District with a one-stop source for all of their technology needs.
