Temple City Unified School District

Client:

Temple City Unified School District

Project Name/Assignment:

District-wide Classroom Audio-Visual System

Challenges:

Digital Networks Group worked with Temple City USD diligently for over a year to determine the learning technology requirements for every classroom within the District. Once the major elements of each classroom were determined, each room needed to be explored, investigated and documented to determine the accessibility to cabling pathway, equipment mounting capabilities, electrical, etc. In an environment where every room was architecturally different, with some sites lacking site modernization for over 50 years, the task was daunting.

Solutions:

As a design/build project, DNG’s team walked each site with the District, a DNG Engineer and two DNG Project Mangers to determine the best way to tackle this undertaking. Engineering was performed to determine the best way to fabricate brackets and mounts for projectors and interactive whiteboards where nothing had existed previously. In many cases DNG performed carpentry work to fasten technology systems into a classroom. Once the classroom technology was installed, DNG provided professional development and staff training help instructors learn how to utilize 21st Century classroom learning tools into their lessons.
